Sunshine Blogger Award- First Award. Yay!!

I was snooping on some other blogs a little while back. Ok, so technically, I guess it’s not snooping, but to me it feels that way if I don’t leave a comment. I don’t know, it’s just how I think I suppose. So yeah, I saw these blogger awards almost like shiny stickers that you get for a job well done and I’m not gonna lie, I wanted one. I was even a bit jealous that I hadn’t gotten one.

So here I am to tell you with excitement, that I did in fact receive my first Blogger Award and I am pretty excited about it because the honor was The Sunshine Blogger Award. I was nominated by one of my most favorite twitter friends, Sandy Riguzzi. You can hop on over to her blog every Sunday morning at https://sundaymorningwithsandy.com/. It truly is the perfect way to start your Sunday off right. She is an inspiration, she has been through a heck of a lot and she truly is my ray of sunshine in the world of twitter.

I did not realize all of the love and support I would receive for my blog in the great old land of Twitter, it’s actually pretty amazing. Us bloggers appreciate the support and this is just one way to pass the torch and share the love. I know that it really lit up my day to see this nomination and I am happy to pass it along.

This award is given to bloggers who show creativity, positivity and inspiration. Once the blogger is nominated (or you know a month and a half later…better late than never is my mantra) they are required to write a post in which they:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated them with a link back to their blog.

  2. Answer the 11 questions that were asked by the blogger who nominated them.

  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers and give them 11 new questions to answer.

  4. Notify your nominees and display The Sunshine Blogger Award in your post.

Here are my questions from Sandy:

  1. Where are you from? I am originally from a city in North East Ohio called Willowick. Nothing fancy, but I love it growing up and I felt that the town was safe and just your normal 80’s sitcom kind of place to be.

  2. What is your favorite kind of music and who is your favorite musician/group, etc? Ooooh, this is a hard one for me because I love music and I have a lot of favorite bands, but if I must pick one I would have to go with Alternative. I have always had a love for Stone Temple Pilots, it is truly the epitome of Alternative Grunge rock for the 90s. So many fond memories of listening to Scott Weiland with his beautiful eyeliner eyes and that voice. Oh my gosh. When he died, I wasn’t surprised but it really really bothered me. My husband got me and my best friend tickets to STP when my oldest was only a few months old and I remember rocking out with engorged breasts and a smile on my face. ha ha!

  3. Who is your hero and why? My Grandpa. He was an honorable man and he would always greet you with a smile. Family was his number one always and he was always there for family. He taught me how to be a good person and be kind. I could go on and on about all of the things that Grandpa taught me about being a stand up person. A silly but true memory is the fact that he would always have his coffee every morning, no matter what. he would make it in the hotel before we left to go to breakfast and I remember him asking for coffee after he had a stroke…I didn’t get it, but now I totally do. He treated everyone with kindness and respect, it was just the person that he was. I love him so much and miss him everyday.

  4. What would your dream vacation be? There are so many places that I still want to go, Shannon and I have a long list. I would have to say a tour of Europe, starting at somewhere like Italy where I can eat my way through the different regions.

  5. If you had to choose your final meal, what would it be? Lots of Pasta and bread (give me all the carbs) with something that had a mix of chocolate and caramel gooiness for dessert. And wine, lots and lots of wine.

  6. What is your favorite season and why? I absolutely love Summer. The sunshine and fresh air, time outside making memories in the sun and having a good time. How could you not love Summer?

  7. Tell me something about you that not a lot of people know. I’m scared of the dark. I don’t know if it is because I have lots and lots of nightmares or because I believe in ghosts and that shit scares well, the shit out of me. But yeah, I’m scared of the dark and I won’t say it too much because I don’t want to project that fear onto my kids, although my middle child already wants to sleep with the lights on. Maybe it’s just in our blood?

  8. If you could describe yourself in one word what would it be? Strong. I have been through a lot of shit and I am still here to tell my story.

  9. If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why? Michelle Obama. I would love to know what it is like to go through the transition of becoming the first lady. I respect the Obama family and I was a proud supporter of the Obama presidency. I would love to just hear about what they are doing now and all of the changes they are continuing to make on the US, little by little. They are a family that doesn’t stay out of the spotlight, but it is more because of their contributions to society and the common good. Truly inspiring.

Being the rule breaker that Sandy is she chose to only use 9 questions and I think I will continue the trend.

Nominating 11 bloggers was the hardest part for me. I have to be honest, it has been hard for me to find time to write on this blog let alone check out other bloggers. I have been working on this the past couple of days and I have put a lot of time and thought into it. These are some bloggers that I currently follow on twitter and through reading their blogs I have now become their subscribers (well, when my e-mail was cooperating) and I feel pretty darn good about it because they have inspired me. I know once you check them out you will love them, too!

P.S. Bloggers, I know some of you have already been nominated in the past. I apologize. I just love you and want you to see that I think you are more than worthy (P.P.S. Please do not worry about doing this).

The 11 bloggers I would like to nominate are……:

Bloggers here are your 11 questions:

  1. What made you decide to become a blogger and how has it helped you?

2. Who was your first crush and what did you love about him/her?

3. What animal would you use to describe yourself, give me two reasons why?

4. What is your favorite childhood book that left an impression on you?

5. If you could be any profession without needing the college degree or studies, what would it be and why?

6. What is the hardest part about having your own blog?

7. What is your least favorite character trait about yourself?

8. How many kids or animals do you have? How old are they?

9. Do you want to write a book one day? What will it be about?

10. What kind of person were you in highschool (ie. jock, preppy, stoner, hippie, etc.)

11. If you could choose a new name what would it be?

Thank you so much for doing this with me and don’t feel bad if it takes you forever and a day…it only took me a month and a half!!
